China: teens sadistic torture

In July 2026, widespread outrage erupted online following a highly publicized case of animal cruelty, degrading to sheer sadism in Jieyang, Guangdong, China, where four minors brutally tortured three puppies to death and doused their stray mother dog named Wang Wang with gasoline, burning her alive. The incident, which the perpetrators filmed and shared on social media, has reignited intense domestic and international condemnation over the lack of comprehensive animal welfare laws in mainland China.

Four boys (all under 14 years old) were walking in their village when a wicked idea crossed their minds: they decided to assault a female dog and her pups, film a video of it, laugh, and one of them said: “Her smell is appetizing”

What caused great anger among the residents is that the dog lived in the village and was known to everyone, some people fed her, and recently she had given birth to 3 puppies two weeks ago

And what made the story heartbreaking: the mother did not stray far from her young despite her suffering; she would flee and return because she couldn’t abandon them, which is what the sadistic Chinese boys exploited.

The punishment: The boys were sent to a specialized school for reforming and educating individuals with dangerous behaviors, and their guardians were obligated to tighten supervision over them because in China, people under 14 years old are not prosecuted criminally except in very special cases.

Some tried to justify the act by saying the boys were suffering from broken families and some have psychological issues, but many rejected this justification and were angered by the lenient sentence
