Brussels 08.05.2026 Why Arik was sterelised FREE of CHARGE in Sofia Municipality programme for stray dogs? How come that he was surrendered as a stray dog to the shelter when he owner Galina M. left her heirs the entire house in Kniyzhevo?

How come that Zlatimira Colova, who presents herself on her Facebook page as “A fresh, upcoming political advisor, harnessing the power of younger generations in civic engagement”, was opting to transfer the bill for castration of “the family dog” to the Community of Sofia?
Is it the “civic engagement” she is exercising?
This situiation is even more ignominious if one thinks about the handsome EU clerk salary of €5 000 (five thousand euro) netto Colova enjoyes, and the property in Kniyazhevo she inherited. She couldn’t open her purse to pay €100 euro for the pet of her late aunt, who made her the heir of her handsome property!
Arik was surrendered to a shelter as a STRAY DOG on January 31, 2025, and released on February 11,2025 in a Municipality programme for FREE sterelising, and microchipping dogs.
Profiting from the tax-payers generocity is, most probably, the “harnessing the power of younger generations in civic engagement” Colova is advertising on her Facebook page, and exercising.
Good to know for electorate, she was trying trying hard to convince! (See MENU: Family, Colova)

INFO FREE MICORCHIPPING and CASTRATION:
Sofia Municipality, in partnership with municipal enterprise “Ecoravnovesie” (Екоравновесие) and organizations like FOUR PAWS, provides free, permanent castration, microchipping, and registration for stray dogs and, periodically, for pets owned by residents with LOW INCOME. As Colova family would not be able to present documents of LOW INCOME Arik was surrendered as a stray.

The property inherited by Zlatimira Colova from her late aunt Galina.
These campaigns aim to reduce stray populations and fulfill legal obligations to manage animal welfare.
Key Free Castration Opportunities in Sofia: Ecoravnovesie (Municipal Enterprise): This is the main body responsible for street dog management in Sofia. They offer free sterilization, which often includes rabies vaccination and registration.
Reduced/Free Costs for Registered Dogs: While the registration fee still applies, neutering your dog can, in some cases, exempt you from the annual municipality dog tax.
How to Utilize These Services:
For Stray Dogs: Contact Ecoravnovesie directly to report stray dogs in your area for pickup and sterilization, or to seek assistance for community-managed street dogs.
