Arik for adoption/dumping

Here is the beginning of the story, the announcement placing Arik for adoption from the January 2025, and promoting him as a good guarding dog. There is no name next to the telephone number, however it was done by Zlatimira Colova (see family chapter), the niece of the late owner – Galina M. The announcement reads: “Begging for help…”

“Guardian Dog, 7 years old

“Looking for a new home

Castrated, vaccinated, with European passport,

Comes with a bed, kennel, collar and leash

District Knyzehvo
“We are asking for help, the owner of this male dog died of cancer in December. She has no relatives who can take care of him. The woman lived alone. The dog is temporarily in a yard in the Knyazhevo district. He is staying outside in the cold and freezing. He needs a home urgently. Contact number for a woman who can give him up by 18.01. because after that he is going abroad 0878 217 860”

In the announcement issued by Zlatimira Colova (see Family chapter on Menu up screen) she described herself as “a woman”, who can surrender the dog to anyone, prepared to give him home. She also underlines his hash conditions in cold weather. In January Arik was not vaccinated, and had no EU passport. It was a lie. So was the mentioning of a kennel, collar, and harnesses. He had nothing but a rotten crate, and dirty rugs.

They age info was false, he was not seven, but almost 10 years old. It is possible that the niece of the late owner concealed his real age to upgrade his chances for adoption. Clearly it would not be easy to find someone to adopt an old dog in the end of the life cycle.

“Момче пазач на ? години от квартал Княжево Молим за помощ, стопанката на това мъжко куче почина от рак през месец декември. Тя няма роднини, които могат да поемат грижата за него. Жената е живяла сама. Кучето се намира временно в двор в квартал Княжево. Стои навън на студа и мръзне. Има нужда от дом спешно. Телефон за връзка с женаь която може да го предаде до 18.01. понеже след това заминава за чужбина 0878 217 860” (In Bulgarian)

The announcement is rather misleading because it diminished the the real size of Arik, who is not S, but L size, closer to a Boxer. Image of Arik (below) 20.02.2026.

On the announcement picture Arik looks like Jack Russel terrier, which was totally misleading, his expression doesn’t match the text declaring him as a “good guardian”.

CONCLUSION: False start

The information about Arik adoption is full of lies both in the text, and in the picture. Zlatimira Colova was attempting to get rid of him as soon as possible, pretending his papers were in order, although they were not, pretending he was a small dog, while he was not.

What is striking is that in spite of the fact he Arik belonged to her aunt, who left her a handsome heritage she did not feel any moral obligation to take care of the her late aunt pet. She also knew Arik for 10 year, but there is no sligtest empathy of him, being an old dog left in hush conditions.

Astonishingly Colova described her mother as a lonely woman without relatives, and herself as a woman who can surrender the dog. This is important, because there are no indications of ownership.

According to the documents the mother – Marijna – died on December 29, 2025, which means that Zlatimira was willing to get rid of the dog in three weeks practically immediately after her mother’s funeral, This information is a valuable proof of a complete absence of the emotional bond, or any empathy towards the animal, who was left behind outside in freezing temperatures in January.

Here is the picture of his “kennel” which goes together is Arik, who was promoted as a good guardian dog.
